In a postponed match of the 17th matchday of the Spanish La Liga, Betis welcomes Barcelona to the Estadio Benito Villamarín.
Back to success for Betis, on Saturday they beat Getafe Madrid 1-0. A deserved victory as they were better throughout the match, missed several chances to score and finally scored the winning goal in the last quarter with a well-timed penalty kick.
With this victory, Betis reached 31 points and is in 6th place in the standings, in a tie with 5th Villarreal, while with a win today they will catch Atlético in 4th place, who lead with 34 points.
Even though it was difficult, Barcelona prevailed on Saturday night away from Girona with 1-0 in the mini Catalan derby. She didn't impress with her performance, instead she struggled to find rhythm and create long spells and would have had bigger problems if her goalkeeper hadn't had a good night. Finally at 61' she took the lead which she kept until the finale which gave her the 3 points of victory.
So Barcelona remains at the top of the standings, reached 47 points and taking advantage of Real's next game against Sociedad increased the difference between them to 5 points in the battle for the title.
Betis comes from good performances, at home they are always competitive and they can give Barcelona a hard time today. Xavi's side, on the other hand, are coming off a winning run despite not impressing with their performance and are rightly at the top of the standings. Both attacking teams, I expect an open match with many phases and goals.
