Special guests
Qatar and Japan accepted the organizers' invitation to join in Copa America, while we should point out that the original thought was for 16 tournaments. However, countries such as Spain and Portugal refused the invitation sent to them, with the result that the tournament was held with 12 teams.
It should be noted that this will not be Japan's first presence in the event, as the Asians have received a similar call for the Copa America of 1999
Way of conduct
The twelve teams have been divided into three groups of four teams, where the top two of each group and the two best third teams (total 8) pass into the knock out phase of the races aiming for a place in the finals.
In the event of a 2 tie or even several groups in a group, the following criteria will apply:
- Better goal difference in the group
- Better attack on the group
- Points in between games. If 3 is the teams, how many points they have accumulated ONLY in the games between them
- Goal difference between games
- Better attack on the games between them
- Ranking based on fair play in the event
- Draw

The champion in the previous event (2016) has emerged Chile. The event was held in the US and is currently taking place in Brazil. Chile was the winner of Copa America, winning 2-4 in the Argentine penalty shoot-out (0-0 in regular time).
Attention: Direct to the semifinals
Particular mention requires a new change that brings the teams directly into the penalty shootout process in the 8 phase of the event.
Sure, the semifinals and the finals are normally the process of half-time extension and if necessary the penalty shootout process, while teams have the option to change 4.
Big and small final
The final of 7 July will be held at Marrakech Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with a capacity of 79.000 spectators, while the small final is held one day earlier in São Paulo at the headquarters of Corinthians.
