The Committee on Supervision and Control has published it OPAP Online Betting Rules.
In the Gazette with the 1330 26 / 5 / 2014 XNUMX sheet number entitled "Regulation of the performance and control of predefined betting games offered by OPAP SA over the internet", all details on the rules and the way in which the Online PLAY BETTING of OPAP.
With this move, the EEPO now officially recognizes that OPAP has the right to online and accepts that it has paid for this license, which is strongly contested by the other companies as well as by the European Commission. In essence, Aeolos' bells are opened for complaints and new litigation.
Another point that raises questions is why this regulation did not first go through public consultation and notification to the European Commission before it was published in the Official Gazette, we note that without the publication of the regulation OPAP could not communicate its new online product which as has informed us for quite some time will have it ready on 2/6/2014. The excuse for this unexpected move was that it did not need to be consulted as the regulation is a copy of the corresponding Danish regulation already adopted.
Please note that this regulation only concerns OPAP's online betting and not the other companies that are temporarily licensed, that is it is not a regulation of the whole market.
What the regulation says
The GG in a few words describes the operating and participation framework, the conditions for the creation of electronic accounts, payments, as well as the identification of the players. More specifically:
* Only people with Greek IP will have the right to participate.
* The game will be obligatory with the individual Player Card, which will be linked to an individual e-account unique to each player.
* Players will have access to their account information for at least 90 days.
* The player will be able to request a status of his / her electronic account for all transactions made in the last 12 months.
* Credit card transactions will not be allowed.
* Profits will be deposited solely on a bank or payment institution that is established and operates legally in Greece or in another member state of the European Union or the European Economic Area.
* People under the age of 21 will not be allowed to participate.
