For the 19th matchday of the German Bundesliga, Cologne welcomes Leipzig to the RheinEnergieStadion.
Under-the-radar Cologne last week at home to bottom side Schalke were held to a 0-0 draw. She couldn't ask for anything more from the match as offensively she couldn't make her presence felt, defensively at least despite receiving several finals she was able to keep a clean sheet.
Even so, Cologne extended their unbeaten streak to 3 matches but having only 1 win in the last 8 matches has dropped to 12th place with 22 points with a safety distance of 6 points from the bottom three of the standings.
Easier than the 2-1 final shows, Leipzig overcame Stuttgart's resistance last week. She didn't impress with her performance as she didn't create as many chances as usual, but still found her way to the net midway through the first half and went to the dressing room ahead of the score. At the beginning of the replay, she doubled her goals and even though she accepted the reduction of the score in the 68th minute, she was not worried as she easily kept her lead until the end of the match.
Thus, Leipzig got their second consecutive victory that keeps them in the bay for the title, at the end of the 18th race he found her in 3th place with 35 points and at minus 2 from 1st Bayern Munich.
At the same time, Leipzig continues in the cup, in midweek they easily beat Hoffenheim 3-1, completing 17 official matches without defeat, and qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition.
Cologne may have disappointed last week at home to Schalke but they are a quality team and especially at home they are quite competitive and score with ease. Leipzig, for its part, is in a very good situation, but on the one hand it has the burden of the cup match and on the other hand it easily loses points. The playing style of both sets us up for a showdown with goals and spectacle.
Suggestion: Cologne – Leipzig GG&OVER 2,5 with an odds of 2.05
