After the bankruptcy, the historic Aktobe returned to the big category this year. Despite the penalty of -3b in the standings, the start was quite promising as it remained undefeated in the first five games (2-3-0). The optimism was also based on the fact that on the roster was a renowned goal scorer, the Uzbek international Igor Sergef.
Nevertheless, the follow-up was not proportionate. Sergeev may have been consistent in meeting the opponents (7 goals in 14 games) but the team "managed" to collect just four points in nine games (1-1-7) resulting in being very low in the standings having in fact the worst defense in the league (-27 goals in 14 games). The negative results also brought a change of coach with Vahid Masudov making his debut today, but the team will not have Sergek at its disposal as the Uzbek striker is with his country's national team, which is playing in World Cup qualifiers.
Neighboring derby is the match, Aktobe will be with a new coach, but without its cannon it has a difficult mission against the formed Atyrau which comes from four clear hotspots (1-0, 0-0, 0-1, 2-0) while in the last ten it records only one defeat (6-3-1).
