We said yesterday that the weather in Spa-Francorchamps was clear. So it happened. But once 45 minutes were completed, we were discouraged. Until that moment McLaren's Lewis Hamilton gave his best to pass Mark Webber after Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and win the pole position of the Belgian Grand Prix. He was followed in a desperate rhythm by Jenson Button, who was hunted by Renault's Robert Kubica, but both Ferrari.
Webber with 1m 46.106s set the terms and followed Hamilton with 1m 46.223s. Vettel third with 1m 46.396s who saw in his Button spoiler with 1m 46.397s (!). However, German went into pits with suspicion of malfunctioning in his brake hydraulics, and then the rain began, freezing the times of everyone. The happiest of course was Kubica who managed to win the bite from the mouth of the Red Army with Alonso and Massa completing the first lines of the start of the race tomorrow.
The Red Bull revival combined with McLaren's ongoing and growing threat creates interesting developments in the Belgian Grand Prix. Of course, since the race tomorrow will be a rain, I will not in any case explain the French and Italian armies with Kubica but also Alonso to thirsty. There is a very interesting duel with Webber and Hammilton for the first place and Kubica wants to surprise. Why not?
