Behind an emblem, there is a story, a small or large symbolism that represents thousands or even millions of people. That's why SPORT 24 gathered the signals of all Superleague teams and shows you their symbolism.
AEK
Significant symbol - emblem for Hellenism and Orthodoxy. AEK's double eagle is similar to that of the Byzantine Empire with both heads representing the emperor's dual power. The left head (facing west) symbolizes Rome, while the right (east) symbolizes Constantinople. The cross and sphere in nails symbolize spiritual and secular power respectively. The eagle stands on a laurel crown. Embossed in the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
As for the biceps of the Union, it is the bicephal Aet of the Byzantine Empire, a black on a yellow background with the symbols of the imperial power (the sword and the globe), a symbol of the Athletic Union of Constantinople, the club founded by 1924 by its Greeks City.

According to the second, it is the trait of the city, from its famous haberdashery in the copper age.

The Atromitos emblem comes from the New Star, a group from which it was founded. Atromitos moved 1933 to Peristeri, which during those years was an immense pigeonhole and the repatriation of thousands of refugees after the destruction of Smyrna. He actually merged with the New Star that broke up and gave his star symbol to the new team's shirt.
The new club, for historical and ethical reasons, was unable to erase its past and cut its roots. It was agreed, therefore, to maintain the name of Atromitos, Asteras to become the emblem of the association, but also its colors, the white and the blue, the colors of the new group of Peristeri, with the first president of the doctor's brother Andreas Tsourtsoglou .
Asteras Tripolis
The Asteras Tripoli emblem is the star without its symbolism. All that is mentioned is that they named him so because he was the Asteras of the region and the pride of Morias.
ERGOTELIS

KAVALA
Christos Batsis, who was an architect engineer in the profession, was the one who designed the AOK boat and is the official emblem of the club since the founding of the club. According to the inspiration of the emblem of the AOC, the boat is a trireme, where the oars are the footballers, the cloth the administration and the fancy crowd of the team.
These three elements together lead the MRL boat to the harbors that are the goals the team puts each time. All of this certainly has to do with the fact that KAVALA is a coastal city and its world closely connected to the wet element. The original element of the emblem of the MRI was hanging on the door of the design of the late CHRIST BATSI until he died.
PANTHRAKIKOS
We did not find any special symbolism for the Panthrakikos team. However, the team's emblem is the lit torch and generally as a design symbolizes rebirth and independence.
PANIONIOS
In the middle of the 1990 when the team belonged to the municipality of N. Smyrna a new emblem was introduced, influenced by the Barcelona mark. In this, the shield had striped blue-colored colors and at the top left the Greek flag on the land and on the right a Ionic-style capital on a red background, referring to the Hellenism of the union and its Ionian roots. This need for communication and action, became a banner of Athletic Education of the Accretes.
The emblem of Xanthi that has been preserved until today is also influenced by the company of Mr. Panopoulos (VIAMAR AE). On the team's emblem, the elements of the old emblem were retained and the brand of the Scoda car maker was added.
