The Mexican director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu is next on my to-do list. The Mexican has had an outstanding presence so far with his films, earned his Oscars and is among the greatest directors of his generation. He has not directed many feature films. There are a total of six films that will be of interest to us (so far). So we embark on a magical journey into the wonderful world of Inarritu !!!

Lost love (2000)
(original title: Amores Perros)

Very good the first big Mexican movie. Three different, chain stories that are "entangled" in a strange way. Something like Babel who came back later. But Latin film. That is, every story has this classic style of most Latin American and Central American films. Like El secreto de sus ojos (The secret in her eyes) for those who have seen it.
For those who like Babel, I think this movie will be a hit too. It's not one of his top hits but it's a great movie.

21 gr of (2003)
(original title: 21 grams)

After 3 years the Mexican went further north. He got a Hollywood side and so on in the movie 21 gr of (those who have seen it know where the title refers) play "stars" like Sean PennThe Naomi Watts: Benicio Del Toro etc. In the same motif as this film, only the different stories are intertwined here and in time and we do not know what is happening now and in the past.
It is definitely a step above the previous one and definitely worth the price. I think it is Inariot's most interesting film to his masterpiece

Babel (2006)

I believe that Babel has been seen, if not all, at least by most. Besides, he has shown it so many times on TV, that it is impossible for someone not to "fall" on it, even by mistake. As its title suggests, the Mexican third film is now becoming global. The story of four different situations that are again entangled in a beautiful way in the end.
The stories take place in Morocco, Tunisia, Mexico and Japan. Amazing once again the way Inaritou shuffles, once again, the pieces of the puzzle until he puts them together at the end. Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett the "heavyweights" in the cast of the film.
Just because I think most of you have seen it, I don't think there is any reason to write a lot. Just for those who don't see it, it's worth it.

Biutiful (2010)

Difficult movie. The first Mexican film that has no interconnected stories and deals with the protagonist's daily life and his family (and not only) issues. But it is very black and "cripples" you.

Birdman or (the unexpected virtue of naivety) (2014)

Birdman is Inarritu's masterpiece! Very good interpretations by M.Keaton and E.Norton. Awesome plot, with incredible developments, laughter, crying, humor, drama, tension, skirmishes ... in general it has everything a movie needs to keep you in the cheetah. The first time I saw her I can say that it didn't impress me so much. but the second time she captivated me. The movie is amazing!
"Birdman" tries hard to get rid of the commercial actor's stigma and tries to put on a play to prove that he is a very good performer. Through all this situation passes the drama of his life ....... these in short

Original title: The Revenant

The last (so far) movie about the Mexican director, the one directed by Oscar. And the Academy also gave DiCaprio the Oscar that owed him many great performances by the great actor.
The movie is definitely a great production. Indeed, the direction of Inarritu is very good (the scene with the bear is one of the most realistic we have seen) but the Mexican loses in what was a big asset in his earlier films in the script. Quite simplistic, without anything special. This movie, if it had a good script, would be one of the best of its kind. Now you just watch it with interest, but you are almost sure of what follows.
It goes without saying that anyone who hasn't seen it should definitely see it. It's a great movie but it's not a masterpiece.
