The situation with the lockdowns is progressing unabated.
Nothing to do with March.
Last March we did not hear from Tsiodra number 100. A 90ari I think once and from the middle of April,
that is, a month after the start of the lockdown we were told that it was coming to an end.
But now it is much worse and does not see light even in six months.
In relation to sports, however, there is a difference.
Last year, all races, football, horse racing, etc. throughout Europe stopped.
It is now considered relatively safe to be held in camera.
But horse racing in Greece can not be done, because horse racing can not be done without betting and
Horse racing betting with closed agencies is not possible. There is no online betting platform.
All the other countries on the planet have, we do not have.
Unfortunately, stupid magazines do not push for this at all.
They will not be able to sell magazines - they believe - when betting is done online and especially if the whole existing horse racing community starts playing online.
This is sad nonsense, of course, because even if there was no coronavirus and the internet platform was locked, it would double the number of philippines and the horse racing turnover.
OPAP now does not want to fix it.
If there was no story with the rent he might have made it but now he does not make it.
How did this story come about?
In 2014 the HRDH put this condition on the potential buyers based on the turnover of ... 2008, which was
eight times the turnover of the time of crisis!
The 2.5 million a year he was asking for would be an unbearable hike in 2008 but in times of crisis
it was ... suicide.
The PMU did not accept and withdrew.
INTRALOT accepted because its offer was too small. 11 million for the purchase of the racetrack and
she even calculated not to pay these 11 million but to offset them with old debts of ODIE to her.
OPAP, which appeared as a fan-stick after the departure of the PMU, also accepted and gave 40
millions to buy. But OPAP was not so interested in horse racing. He was primarily interested in not having horse racing betting as a competitive bet and was also interested in getting INTRALOT out of the middle of the betting market, which he did.
In 2019, OPAP ... remembered that it is good to ask for the rent to be paid, but at the same time it started all the fuss with the old Filippo Enosi.
In those days, the faction that is close to the old Filippo Enosi collected signatures as you remember and in the text of its declaration it said about the famous rent that it also supports giving.
I signed. Ghanian did not put the names of the last ones who signed on his website, but I did.
Finally, OPAP "erased" the old Filippo Union and created something like Filippo Union of its own, succeeded
but to give him the rent.
But - he left - New Democracy came and took it back for the rent and OPAP is blowing the whistle now.
But why did OPAP fight with the old Filippo Union since they agreed on this key issue?
If this had not happened, New Democracy could again take back the rent law, but there would be a much stronger "resistance front" and it probably could not.
Was OPAP raped?
Did he believe that SYRIZA would come out again? Irrational. It is not so absurd to believe on March 19 that SYRIZA has some luck, but not to wait to win!
But was Vassiliadis the one who told them "expel the old Filippo Union so that I can support you in the issue of rent - otherwise I do nothing"?
We can only speculate and it is generally a mystery why what happened with the old Filippo Union happened - which resulted in the suspension of the Greek horse races for 5 months, from January 2019 to May!
In relation to these we do not discuss who was right about the Philippine Union but we find it completely absurd to do so, since the problem was different.
Now OPAP, as you can understand, has crossed its legs and on the occasion of the November lockdown, it has completely stopped racing.
At the moment we hear that half the horses have gone abroad and if at some point in the current year 2021 the lock is lifted we see it very difficult to start the races again.
This is our assessment and there is no lobby to put some pressure on the situation, on the issue of the internet platform on the one hand and on the issue of Markopoulos's rent on the other.
There are only stupid magazines that we do not know what they will do in the future. Maybe they sell samali in Omonia.
Foreign horse racing is currently taking place in the diapason - despite the lockdowns.
We do not even see a queue.
