Betting is known to be allowed in Western societies, subject to conditions.
But it is not considered a social right.
If it was a social right, then there would certainly be even the most basic protection for players.
But why is it not considered a social right?
To find an edge let's start with the old days.
In England, who is the mother of the bet, it was always allowed. But there were no laws
ensure betting players from various arbitrariness. There were taxes, but laws
they did not exist - they called it the "gentlemens agreement".
In other words, if the company did not pay you, the company would become resilient, but it had the right not to
to pay you.
Now it's a little different.
In our country, any kind of public betting was prohibited. There was gambling, of course, but
public betting was not allowed. It was first allowed in 1910 with the publication of the state
"fleet lottery". The purpose was to get money from the state of course - they would go to
reinforcement of the navy.
Then the racetrack was built in 1926, in 1958 the PROPO and we slowly entered the
modern times.
But all to get the state money, with rake and taxes.
But why is it not considered a social right?
In fact, what we are doing is deciding to share
our money between us. We want many to lose a little but the smartest or the luckiest
to be favored and made economically.
It is a collective decision that we all make subconsciously.
It fits more into a liberal political-economic perception of things than
in one of the various centralized perceptions.
But it is not recognized.
We have to accept that betting is not a production process like that
others.
We do not cultivate the land, we are not engineers or doctors, we do not produce art.
We do what we did before, describing it: A race.
None of the players have a problem when a big winner emerges.
Everyone calls him well done, provided of course he won honestly.
But do we have the right to demand something from the state?
It is a philosophical question, we say "yes", the state says "no".
What would happen if our society accepted us as equal members in the economic becoming?
In my opinion, the following would happen:
A grassroots company would be set up to organize the bet.
It would not make a profit (non-profit), but it would keep us some percentages for salaries
of workers, for the supplies-equipment needed, for listing rights
betting events and the tax office. A 5-10% would hold us, below
not going.
Today's betting providers all work more or less in a stealthy way
while taxes have reached unreasonable heights. It is only to their detriment
dilutes the clientele (hasura is not hidden).
But we cannot achieve the slightest thing because we are disorganized.
Unfortunately, most of us do not understand what is happening or we are afraid and caught
sucker.
But what are we afraid of?
Really, what dictatorship, what April 21 would force us to play in
OPAP agencies ; To force us to put the flag on the balcony for her
expulsion from the council of europe I understand, but to force us to play OPAP.
I do not understand it.
