There will be an increased number of horses as 36 purebreds have been imported and there are already more than 300 OPAP agencies that are properly equipped to accept bets on Greek horse racing.

However, it should be noted that for the first time Greek players will be able to bet live on horse races in England and South Africa (and soon will be added by the French). The sums to be raised by players in Greece will be included in the total amount of bets abroad for the same race (common pool), with the result that the player in our country participates in claiming a significant amount of profits.

Premiere for Greek horse racing

The official start of the Greek horse races in Markopoulo, Attica is made by Ippodromies SA, a member of the OPAP Group, on Friday, January 22, 2016.
With its planning for the next day of the Greek races to be in full swing, the company Horsesports SA completed all the necessary preparatory work at a functional, technical and competitive level in order to ensure the excellent and safe organization of the first Greek racing event. He has also carried out maintenance work on the track and at the same time implements work on upgrading and improving the premises and infrastructure of the facilities in Markopoulo.

With the aim of providing the public with a modern game experience, according to the most up-to-date gaming principles, the company will provide from Monday, 18 January 2016, players the opportunity to watch and bet on international races in France, South Africa, initially through a network of approximately 300 agencies. The number of agencies will increase gradually over the next period.

In particular, for the first time in Greece, the sums raised by the players in Greece will be included in the total amount staked abroad for the same common pool, with the result that the player in our country is involved in claiming a significant amount of profits.

From Monday 18 January 2016 this feature will be available on horse races in England and South Africa. In this category will soon be added the French races, for which, at present, the betting will take place locally and will concern amounts deposited by players in Greece.
