The first cycle of the licensing process of the companies that will operate in the context of the regulated market of online games has been completed
The first cycle of the licensing process of the companies, which will operate within the framework of the now regulated market of online games, was completed today, 5.7.2021.
Of the 21 companies that applied for an online gambling license,
15 companies were licensed
while the applications of 6 companies were rejected.
The total price of the licenses granted amounts to 72.000.000 euros, of which 21.750.000 euros have already been collected. The letters of guarantee submitted amount to 14.500.000 euros.
In addition, 226 Suitability Licenses have already been granted to natural persons performing the Critical Operations of the above companies, as well as 36 Manufacturers' Suit Licenses of all categories.
The audits are continued by EEEP for the Suitability Licenses of Associates and executives of the licensed companies, as well as for the Suitability Licenses of Manufacturers and Importers - Suppliers.
In the near future, the issuance of the decisions to start the games for the licensed providers (Go Live) is expected and the new regulated market in the field of online games will start operating.
ΤMember State, it is noted that the licensing process remains open to interested parties and two additional applications have already been submitted, which are being evaluated by the relevant Directorate.
