The family of AEK mourns the loss of Stelios Skevofylakas who passed away in the early hours of Wednesday (10/06) at the age of 70, defeated by a terminal illness.

Stelios Skevofylakas marked the football history of AEK wearing the jersey with the biceps from 1961 to 1973. period celebrated the conquest of three championships and two cups of Greece.
Skevofylakas completed his career at AEK with 339 appearances and 19 goals. At the same time, he wore the jersey with the coat of arms 11 times, making his debut on May 22, 1963.

For the last 8 years he has been the president of the association of veteran football players of AEK.
The funeral procession will be sung on Friday (12/06) at 13:00 in Agios Antonios Perissos. His funeral will be held at the Second Cemetery of Athens.

Stelios Skevofylax

He was a member of the great AEK of the Tsaknadi period. Excellent in his duties, he fought alongside the great figures of the "Union" of the 60's, such as Nestoridis, Serafeidis, Papaioannou and others. He offered a lot to come in five years (1963-1968) 2 Championships (1963. 1968) and 2 Cups (1964, 1966). He was associated with as few as possible with the club and the fans of the "Union", as it results from the long-term presence in the position of president of the association of veteran players of AEK. He has been international 11 times with the Men's National Team. He made his debut on May 22, 1963 in the friendly Poland - Greece, while his last game was on October 16, 1966.

He made his debut in the First National on September 9, 1961, in the match Egaleo - AEK 0-8. He played 297 games for A 'Ethniki and scored 15 goals, 32 Cup games with 4 goals and 10 games in the European Cups.
He was the coach of many teams, most recently Niki Volou, who promoted him to the Second National in the summer of 1996 and left permanently in the summer of 1997.
