OPAP is once again implementing new actions to address the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and is moving on to the next phase of its initiatives.
Specifically, in order to strengthen the public health system in this critical period, OPAP makes a donation of material and equipment to cover the immediate and pressing needs of the health authorities and hospital units.
At the same time, the company implements a program of targeted actions to support the network of its partners, who are directly affected by the suspension of the activities of the OPAP and PLAY stores.
500.000 masks and emergency equipment in three hospitals
In order to further contribute to the national effort to deal with the pandemic and to strengthen the work of the country's hospital units, OPAP directly supports the competent bodies, by donating 500.000 surgical masks and essential equipment, for use by their doctors and nurses. public hospitals. The donation of OPAP was directed to the support mechanism created by the Ministry of Health and concerns three hospitals.
In this context, 350.000 masks are delivered to ATTIKON University General Hospital, which is one of the reference hospitals for dealing with COVID-19 cases. In addition, 90.000 masks will be delivered to the Children's General Hospital "Agia Sofia" and 60.000 masks will be delivered to the General Children's Hospital of Athens "Panagiotis and Aglaia Kyriakou". Covering specific needs of the "Panagiotis and Aglaia Kyriakou" hospital, blood donor monitors for monitoring vital signs and monitors of vital parameters are also delivered to it, which are suitable for use in Intensive Care Units, surgeries and hospital wards, among others.

In total, 25 renovation projects have been delivered, which upgrade the infrastructure of the two hospitals. Also, with the help of OPAP, the Child's Smile redirected the mobile units used for the preventive medicine program "OPAP in the Neighborhood", making them available to the health system, to cover emergencies. This service is a communication and information platform, which utilizes the network of certified doctors-associates of doctoranytime. It is noted that for the new cycle of the OPAP Forward program, which supports the development efforts of dynamic companies and the creation of jobs and added value for the economy, priority will be given to the participation of companies that actively support the efforts of the state and the public health system. to limit the spread of the coronavirus. An evaluation process of companies that have expressed interest in participating in the program is currently underway.
Special support actions for the partners of the OPAP network
Due to the pandemic, the activity of the OPAP and PLAY stores has been suspended since March 14, with the company's network associates being among the first to be affected by the effects of the health crisis. It is noted that the commercial network of OPAP covers about 4.500 points of sale, which employ more than 15.000 employees, throughout Greece.
From the first moment, OPAP undertook targeted initiatives to support its network, strengthening the system of systematic communication with its partners and implementing actions and measures to alleviate them.
