I think the books themselves guide us by giving chances through the odds they put.

So when they give you the Under from 1,47 to 1,66 then the chances of Under 1,5 in the first half are many for the odds they give us. Which means that returns are worth even if they are folded. (You reduce the chances but increase the profit so it's worth it.)

So I target 60% + even with doubles, although I do not do it often. Almost always I played single accepted.

From what I understand and from your initial post you are essentially progressive betting in case of a loser bet.
That if you do, conditions and postures in the long run you will fail your bank.
