Good evening friends
The best selection process in Europe, equal - for many, even superior - to Eurovision itself is undoubtedly the Swedish. The so-called "Melodifestivalen" has been organized almost every year since 1959 (it was not organized in 1964, 1970 and 1976) by two state agencies, Sveriges Television (SVT) and Sveriges Radio (SR). For the last 15 years it has been consistently the television program with the largest annual viewership in Sweden, especially after the introduction of televoting in 1999 (until then only the committee voted), but also the semifinals in 2002, when the number of contestants increased from 10-12 at 28-32, further increasing interest. As always, four semifinals will be held (February 6, 12, 20 and 27), a second chance round (March 5) and the grand final (March 12). The first two from each semifinal automatically advance to the final, while those who took 3rd and 4th place proceed to the process of the 2nd opportunity. From there, the four winners will go to the final, where a total of 12 candidate artists will appear.
