Win At West Brom Puts Forest Second

Fri 08 Jan 2010
Nottingham Forest find themselves in second place in the Championship after a magnificent performance secured them a 3-1 win against West Brom which stretches their unbeaten run to 18 games.

Forest were in charge for much of the first half, taking the lead after 19 minutes and defending well to frustrate the home site.

Forest were in control again early in the second half, putting two more past the home side in the opening ten minutes.

But after West Brom got a goal back they threatened on a number of occasions as Forest fought to regain control.

There was scarcely a sign of the snowy conditions inside the Hawthorns when the game got under way although a few snowflakes hinted at the weather which has called off most games this weekend.

The hard pitch made it difficult for both teams to get control of the ball in the opening minutes with passes too easily going astray.

It was nearly ten minutes before either side got a shot near the target with Jerome Thomas getting a shot in from the left which was well blocked by Wes Morgan.

But it was the away side that took the lead in the 19 th minute from a corner taken by Radoslaw Majewski which picked out Dexter Blackstock, who found space to slide in and send the ball flying low inside the near post.

A brave save by Lee Camp prevented a quick equalizer when the Forest keeper came out to dive forward and smother the ball at the feet of Luke Moore.

Forest created another chance with a beautiful move down the right by Chris Gunter who picked up the ball from Chris Cohen and ran all the way to the by-line before laying it back for Majewski who sent the ball flying over the crossbar from ten yards out.

Forest continued to frustrate West Brom with some excellent defensive football which saw the home side struggling to get the ball forward.

A poor clearance by Scott Carson five minutes before half time almost gifted Forest the chance of a second goal but, despite Majewski getting on the end of the ball, Forest were unable to take advantage.

West Brom's first corner of the second half was played in well by Chris Brunt but the ball was snatched cleanly out of the air by Camp.

But seven minutes into the half Forest doubled their lead with a magnificent goal. After some superb build-up play Gunter crossed the ball to the back post where Majewski thumped it diagonally across the face of the goal and into the far side of the net.

And Forest were three up just three minutes later with another superb goal. Gunter crossed from the right to Guy Moussi who passed to Chris Cohen and his magnificent left-footed strike from the edge of the penalty area flew past Carson into the back of the net.

Soon after, Nathan Tyson replaced Moussi, who had put in a terrific performance after his return from injury.

West Brom got a goal back with a good break down the left by Graham Dorrans, whose superb cross picked out Roman Bednar who had Camp beaten, denying the Forest keeper a record seventh clean sheet.

West Brom were producing their best football of the game and came close to another when Jonas Olsson's effort forced Camp to put the ball round the post for a corner.

Forest were not closing the ball down as well as they had been and it became a much more evenly matched game.

Dele Adebola replaced an excellent Blackstock with 15 minutes of the game remaining and the presence of Adebola was felt straight away at both the back and the front.

And Forest's third substitution of the game saw James Perch come on for Majewski.

Forest's control of the game improved in the closing minutes as they tried to take the pressure of themselves and Adebola had a chance with a shot from the left of the goal but the ball went out the other side.

The home side had a late chance when substitute Ishmael Miller got control of the ball wide right and worked his way well towards goal before firing off a shot which Camp did well to put out for a corner.

The home supporters were streaming from the ground when the fourth official announced six minutes stoppage time.

Billy Davies paid tribute to Nottingham Forest's behind the scenes staff after being presented with the Coca-Cola Championship Manager of the Month award for December.

Davies landed the award after guiding The Reds to four wins and two draws last month.

But he refused to take all the credit, preferring instead to heap praise on those who work closely with him.

He said: "Great credit has got to go to all the wonderful staff who work beside me and, of course, the players.

"This is a little bit of recognition for everyone at the club and all I'm doing is picking it up on their behalf."

Davies is pictured with goalkeeper Lee Camp, who was named Coca-Cola Championship Player of the Month for December.

Nottingham Forest 2 - 1 Reading

Sun 17 Jan 2010

A superb first half performance was enough for Nottingham Forest to secure a win against Reading, which means they are now 18 games undefeated in the Championship.

Forest's domination of the first half was almost total, with Reading not having a single shot on target. Forest looked in control already when they took the lead after 11 minutes and doubled it just before half time.

The second half was much more of a contest with Lee Camp denying Reading twice early in the half. And the Forest keeper was the hero again when he saved a Reading penalty after Nicky Shorey was sent off.

Reading got what was in the end a deserved goal back late in stoppage time but it was too little too late to stop Forest taking all three points ..

Forest broke forward in the opening minute with a flick through by Chris Cohen towards Robert Earnshaw who broke forward, but a bit too quickly and the offside flag went up.

A great move involving four or five Forest players finished with a good cross by Radoslaw Majewski wide right to Chris Gunter, who sent a perfect cross into the six-yard box, but Reading were able to clear the ball.

There were calls for a hand ball from the Forest crowd and bench when Ivar Ingimarsson's raised arm helped to clear the danger in front of Adam Federici's goal.

Forest took the lead in the 11 th minute after a flick by on by Earnshaw to Chris Cohen who ran from the half way line, going clear on goal. Rather than try a shot himself he looked up and saw Paul Anderson free and sent in a perfect cross for Anderson to lob into the net from 12 yards out.

When Reading put Forest under pressure, the home side defended well before making a good break down the left, until Majewski was brought down by Jem Karacan just outside the left corner of the penalty area.

Majewski's well taken free kick in was heading for Dexter inside the box, but Ingimarsson got up and headed the ball out for a corner.

Forest had a chance to make it two when Anderson made a superb run down the left, chested the ball down, beat his man and sent in a superb cross to Blackstock whose header was only just wide of the target.

And they continued to threaten with a good cross from Cohen and a shot from close range by Earnshaw whose volley went straight at Federici, but it was still needed a good save to stop the ball.

Forest scored their second just before the break after Majewski took the ball forward before feeding it to Earnshaw as he ran into the box and slotted the ball past Federici into the back of the net.

And it was almost three in stoppage time when Cohen fed the ball through to Blackstock who beat the keeper but then dragged the ball just inches wide.

Forest took a few minutes to settle into their stride at the start of the second half, letting Reading push forward, although they were unable to make anything of it.

Reading also looked more composed and closed Forest down much better than they had in the first half.

Reading almost took the lead when the ball was fed to Gunnar Thorvaldsson who sent the ball across the face of the goal, forcing an excellent save off the line from Lee Camp.

And just a minute later an unmarked Thorvaldsson was denied again by Camp who dived to his right to make another superb save.

Federici had an easy save to make when Blackstock fed the ball to Majewski but his effort from the edge of the D went straight to the Reading keeper.

Reading were awarded a penalty and Nicky Shorey was sent off, playing for the first time against his former side, when he brought down substitute Jimmy Kebe as he ran into the box.

But Reading were again denied by Camp when the other substitute, Brian Howard, took the penalty, sending Camp diving to his left to parry the ball away with both hands.

Forest, having strengthened their defense with James Perch already on for Earnshaw, did so again with ten minutes remaining when Luke Chambers came on for Majewski.

Duck Nathan Tyson came on soon after, replacing Blackstock up front with seven minutes left.

A mistake by Andy Griffin, under pressure from Anderson, almost gifted Forest a chance when the ball fell for Tyson whose shot from 25 yards went wide.

Reading put Forest under more pressure late in the half when they won a free kick on the right after Anderson fouled Kebe. Howard took the shot well but it was cleared by Wes Morgan and the ball went out for a corner.

Reading got a consolation goal deep into stoppage time from a cross in by Howard from the edge of the penalty area, Kebe got a touch on the ball and sent it past Camp from six yards out.

Wow!!! New five yesterday ..
Nottingham Forest - QPR 5-0.
I was covering the matches in a newspaper yesterday. He had the last 5 inside. All 5 were Ace Half / Ace Final !!!! And of course over !!!
Good feeling. Win a team you like and go and fund.

So where Forrest is going will pass Newcastle.
Meanwhile, West Brom brought 1-1 in Ipswich, so the score is as follows ...

10sdi1g.jpg

I hope it continues like this and clears up the direct rise. Barrages in England are not as fun as in some other countries. There everything starts from the beginning.
But I do not think so. After so many years, it's probably time to show it off in the living rooms.

Forest Put Five Past QPR

Tue, 26 Jan 2010
Nottingham Forest got their biggest win of the season after demolishing QPR in a 5-0 victory which sees them finish in second place, equal on points with Newcastle, for at least 24 hours.

Forest totally dominated the first half and had Rangers quickly on the back foot with two goals in as many minutes and then added a third from the penalty spot.

Forest were four in front just three minutes into the second half, but they did not have it all their own way and Rangers had chances early in the half. But Forest were in control once again for much of the half and the visitors could do nothing to stop them getting their fifth as they keep another clean sheet.

Forest lost the toss and start the game attacking the Trent End and they got into their stride early on with some good football as they got the ball forward confidently in the opening minutes.

They created an early chance from a great cross by Radoslaw Majewski out to it James Perch, who was on his own on the far left. He sent a beautiful cross into the box and Matthew Connolly did well to get on the end of it before Dexter Blackstock could.

Forest continued to threaten and took the lead when they were awarded a free kick just outside the D, after a foul on Blackstock. Robert Earnshaw took it and calmly chipped the ball over the wall and sent it curling high over Carl Ikeme and into the back of the net.

And they were two up just two minutes later when Paul Anderson made a superb run from the half way line, looked up and laid the ball in front of Earnshaw who was clear on the right. His crisp, right-foot finish made it look easy as he sent the ball low into the bottom of the net from 12 yards out.

A long-range shot by Majewski almost put them three up and Carl Ikeme had to reach high to punch the ball away.

A rare break forward by Rangers saw Lee Camp make his first save of the half, an easy catch from a shot by Adel Taarabt from 18 yards out.

Forest were awarded a penalty just after the hour mark when, after some superb build-up play, Earnshaw was bundled over clumsily by Kaspars Gorkss inside the box.

After recent misses, Blackstock was not going to let Earnshaw take the penalty, despite being on a hat-trick. He grabbed the ball firmly, placed it on the penalty spot and looked confident as he sent the keeper the wrong way as the ball went low into the bottom left of the goal to put Forest three up.

The pace dropped slightly in the final quarter of the first half, but Forest still looked in control.

QPR had a chance to get one back just after the start of the second half when they won a free kick about 2 yards outside the box. Taarabt side-footed the ball to Nigel Quashie whose effort from 20 yards saw Camp dive to his left to make a good save.

But Forest were four in front just three 3 minutes into the half with a great effort from Chris Cohen who ran onto Perch's ball, turn and with nobody marking him, sent the ball rocketing into the back of the net from 25 yards out.

Rangers then had a good period of possession after this and came close when Camp was only able to parry away Connolly's effort. The ball came back out to Akos Buzsaki who wasted his chance, blazing over from close range.

And the Forest keeper was in action again when Buzsaki fed the ball to Taarabt who got a good shot in, forcing Camp to tip the ball over the crossbar for a corner.

Forest pushed forward again and created a chance when Earnshaw put the ball wide out to Anderson, but his effort went across the face of the goal and out the other side.

Another great move saw Majewski knock the ball through to Perch as he made a run into the box from the left but his effort was blocked and went out for a corner.

And from the corner, Blackstock's header found Earnshaw at the back post and his header bounced off the top of the post.

Anderson was the first Forest player to be substituted, receiving a standing ovation when he went off to be replaced by Nathan Tyson with 20 minutes remaining.

Wes Morgan received an even warmer ovation when he went off soon after. He had clearly been playing on after picking up some sort of injury, but did not look troubled by it as he went off, with Luke Chambers coming on in his place.

Forest were soon pushing forward again and the ball was played beautifully by Blackstock to Tyson as he ran into the box and the referee ignored the fact that Quashie was impeding his progress, preventing him from getting a shot in.

Rangers' defense were all over the place as it took three chances for Forest to get the ball in the back of the net for goal number five. First Cohen's effort was cleared off the line, then Earnshaw mis-kicked in front of goal before the ball came out to Perch, whose effort from a tight angle at the back post finally found the target.

Blackstock was reluctant to leave the pitch when he became Forest's final substitute, with Dele Adebola coming on in anticipation of getting the sixth of the night for Forest.

As Forest put Rangers under pressure again, Tyson's pace took Peter Ramage by surprise and the Forest striker ran to the goal-line before pulling the ball back towards Adebola, but it was cleared by a Rangers defender.

As Rangers made a late attack on the Forest goal an excellent defensive header by Cohen kept Forest's clean sheet intact in the 90th minute.

Forest's Unbeaten Run Ends

Sat 30 Jan 2010
Nottingham Forest's unbeaten League run finally came to an end at Pride Park where Derby broke down the Forest defense to score the only goal late in the second half and take all three points.

With Derby edging it in terms of chances, Forest defended brilliantly in the first half and Lee Camp made two good saves to finish the first half goalless.

It was a hard-fought second half from both sides, but Derby persevered and finally got the winner from a free kick.

Both sides threatened in the opening minutes, with Derby winning a free kick and then Forest showing their pace with a superb break by Robert Earnshaw, who combined well with Radoslaw Majewski to get the ball forward.

Forest put pressure on the Derby defense from the corner and when Bywater punched the ball away and it fell for Earnshaw who blasted the ball towards goal. It came back out again and was put out for a second Forest corner.

Derby also showed their pace with a good run forward by Stephen Pearson who put the ball through to Kris Commons, whose effort at a tight angle won him a corner. Commons' corner was well taken but Pearson's shot was wide.

Forest were unable to find the target when they won a free kick wide on the left. Chris Cohen's ball in to the far post was good and Wes Morgan made a good run in to get his head on it, but his effort went wide.

There followed a sustained period of pressure from Derby and headers by Morgan, James Perch and Dexter Blackstock all added to some good defending by Forest.

And when Derby won a corner a looping header from Jake Buxton forced Lee Camp to back pedal to tip the ball over the crossbar for another corner.

They threatened again from another corner, their 8th of the game, when Shaun Barker was unmarked and he headed the ball towards goal, sending Camp diving to his right to tip round post.

Chances were few and far between for Forest, but just before half time Earnshaw tried a shot from 25 yards out but his effort went wide.

Majewski created a good chance early in the second half with a great run down the left into the penalty area where he sent the ball across the face of goal, but it was too strong and it hit Paul Anderson and went in the wrong direction.

There was a yellow card for Stephen Pearson after what must have been his third challenge on Chris Gunter in the first eight minutes of the half. And from the resulting free kick, Cohen's effort from wide on the right forced Stephen Bywater to punch the ball out for a corner.

And Forest kept up the pressure with a good cross by Gunter from wide right. The ball found Blackstock inside the penalty area and his header forced Bywater to give away another corner.

Derby made a good break when Paul Green got away from Perch, but when the ball came into the box there were plenty of defenders there and the effort from Rob Hulse trickled past the near post.

There were some calls for a penalty when Majewski's ball found Anderson inside the box and his effort seemed to have been stopped by the hand of James McEveley, but the referee indicated that it had hit his chest.

Forest won a free kick 25 yards out on the left, when Blackstock went down after being clipped by Nicky Hunt, but before it was taken Earnshaw was replaced by Dele Adebola. The free kick was poorly taken by Cohen and the ball went high and wide.

And after more pressure from Derby, as they took their tally of corners to 13, Guy Moussi came on for Anderson.

Derby took the lead 13 minutes before time when they won a free kick 10 yards out from the far corner flag. It was good delivery by Commons and Hulse evaded the Forest defense and headed in at the near post.

The reaction from the bench was to bring on Lewis McGugan, who has proven he can score when he comes on as a sub, to replace Majewski.

Blackstock thought he should have had a penalty when Barker pulled him down inside the box, but the Forest striker had already fouled the Derby player to get past him in the first place.

Derby slowed play down with two substitutions as the game moved into stoppage time.

An argument ensued in the last minute of stoppage time when McEveley refused to give the ball back and Gunter tried to get it off him. The referee finally extracted the two players from the crowd of players and substitutes and booked them both and the game ended soon after.

Nottingham Forest: Camp, Gunter, Morgan, Wilson, Perch, Cohen, Anderson (Moussi 76min), McKenna (C), Majewski (McGugan 81min), Blackstock, Earnshaw (Adebola 71min)
Subs not used: Smith, Chambers, McCleary, McGoldrick

Doncaster 1 - 0 Forest

Sat 13 Feb 2010
Nottingham Forest are still to score at the Keepmoat Stadium after suffering their second defeat in a week.

It was a lively first half with some good, attacking football from both sides. Doncaster took the lead and Forest fought back well and came close to getting a quick equaliser.

Forest looked increasingly frustrated as the second half wore on with their composure letting them down towards the end of the game. And they were down to ten men after substitution Gareth McCleary was sent off for a foul.

Doncaster had the first real chance of the half in the eighth minute when Billy Sharp turned Kelvin Wilson before shooting from the edge of the box, but Lee Camp was able to tip the ball round the post for a corner.

Sharp again threatened when he beat the Forest defense and lobbed the ball past Wes Morgan and Camp before it went across the face of goal and wide.

Doncaster continued to impress in midfield and Forest reacted by moving Radoslaw Majewski back into midfield and pushing Nathan Tyson forward to play behind Dele Adebola.

There were cries for a penalty from the Forest bench when Chris Gunter went down after getting past Mark Wilson, who appeared to then block the Forest player, but the referee was not interested.

After creating a number of chances, Doncaster took the lead just after the half hour mark. It was great delivery by James Chambers in sending in the cross which created the chance but as Camp came out to claim it, Sharp got his head on the ball and flicked it low into the center of the goal.

Forest reacted well and missed a chance to go level soon after with a great shot forward by Chris Cohen to Tyson who went one-on-one with the Doncaster keeper. Neil Sullivan blocked his effort well and the ball came back out to Majewski, but he shot wide.

It was good end-to-end football for the rest of the half, hampered slightly by the torrential rain that played havoc with the pitch.

A good interception by Gunter prevented a chance for Doncaster early in the second half as the home side made a positive start.

Forest did not wait long before making their first substitution with Gareth McCleary replacing Lewis McGugan, who had struggled to get into the game.

Duck David McGoldrick followed him shortly after, coming on for Majewski, to the disappointment of the traveling supporters.

A good run by McCleary ended in frustration when he sent the ball well wide of the target.

And Forest squandered another chance when Kelvin Wilson got the ball forward and over the shoulder of Dele Adebola to drop in front of him and he ran clear on goal, but his effort from 8 yards out went over.

Forest were lucky not to concede another goal when Wilson gave the ball away and Sharp and James Coppinger both got forward with the ball but Forest were let off when they got in each others way.

The final change for Forest saw their leading goalscorer Dexter Blackstock come on for Tyson as they continued to struggle to get any efforts on target.

Forest created a chance after great work by Cohen to get the ball forward past three players to McGoldrick, but his effort hit the back of Blackstock.

Forest were clearly showing their frustration as they let Doncaster get to them and were down to ten men after McCleary was shown a red card for a challenge on John Oster with eight minutes remaining.

Forest created little in the closing stages of the game and in the first of the five minutes stoppage time Doncaster were only stopped from increasing their lead by Wes Morgan, who deflected Sharp's shot wide for a corner.

Forest boss Davies: We want to bring players in, not sell them

1695513.jpg
Targets: Forest's Kelvin Wilson, Chris Cohen and Nathan Tyson

BILLY Davies today urged Nottingham Forest not to allow any more players to leave the City Ground - and admitted speculation about the future of Kelvin Wilson, Nathan Tyson and Chris Cohen is having a destabilizing affect on his squad.
The Reds boss says he has recommended to the club hierarchy that they do not consider any offers for the trio, with Celtic said to be keen on Wilson, several Premiership clubs having been linked with Cohen and Southampton already having a bid rejected for Tyson.
And, at the same time, he admitted to being 'very concerned' at the lack of new signings.
"There is a lot of speculation with regard to Kelvin Wilson. We will have to see what happens there and it is the same with Chris Cohen and Nathan Tyson. It can be disruptive when that happens," he said.
TIN.adverts.adWriteDC('article-detail-impact-tile-top', '452x118');

"My recommendation with all three players is that they should be part of our progression.
"I have not spoken to the players but they know my feelings about them. They know that I like them and like them very much.
"They know they are very much part of our plans.
"Money talks in football however, we all know that. As a manager, you know that what you are dealing with now might not be what you are dealing with in two weeks."
Davies refuted speculation that Arsenal striker Jay simpson is among the list of targets he has given to the acquisitions committee.
He said: "I have recommended that we bring in strikers, yes. But he is not among them.
"As things stand, I have given a list of potential signings to the acquisitions committee and like anyone else, I am obviously very concerned.
"But I have said before that it is just my job to put the names forward and then wait, like everyone else, to see what can be done."
When asked if he was having regular conversations with the committee, Davies responded: "I have had my meeting (with the committee) and I have put the names forward of the players I believe can move this club forward.
"It's only right that the board and the acquisitions panel deal with the players coming in and going out. They deal with finance, I deal with the players."
Forest lost 1-0 at Peterborough on Saturday, following on from their 2-0 defeat at Tranmere in midweek.
"It would concern me (not getting the right results) when we have the right team out and the right balance," Davies said.
"But, at the current time, we find ourselves without new signings and we have lost some key players."

Tributes paid to former Forest goalkeeper Dale Roberts after his sudden death

TRIBUTES have been paid to former Nottingham Forest goalkeeper dale roberts following his sudden death.
Blue Square Premier side Rushden and Diamonds, where he was currently playing, tonight announced the sad news of the 24-year-old's death.
It led to their FA Trophy first round replay at Eastwood Town being postponed.
A Forest spokesman said: "Dale has been with us for several years and was enormously popular with his team-mates and coaching staff.
"We are deeply saddened by the news of his tragic death.
"Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time."
Eastwood Town manager Paul Cox, who had Roberts on loan at Coronation Park earlier in his career, said it was 'an absolute tragedy'.
"I was only speaking to him on Saturday and he was one of the nicest lads you will ever meet, as well as an excellent keeper," Cox said.
"Some things are bigger than football and render it meaningless and this is one of them.
"We totally understand the decision to call the game off after his passing away.
"I have told Justin Edinburgh (Rushden's manager) that if there is anything we can do to help at this very sad time then he only has to ask. "
Roberts was a product of the Reds' youth academy and a regular on the bench during the 2007/08 campaign.
He spent some time on loan at Eastwood from March 2006 until the end of that season and the following campaign at Conference North side Alfreton Town, making 47 appearances.
He spent the latter part of the 2007/08 season on loan at Rushden from Forest, playing 19 games including the Setanta Shield final.
Roberts signed again on loan in October 2008, finally making the move to Nene Park permanent in the January transfer window of 2009 when he left the City Ground.
His performances in that 2008/09 season saw him picked for the England C team in their 4-0 win against Malta. He also won Rushden and Diamonds' Player of the Season award.
Last season he played in all four England C matches, before being voted their player of the season.
In total, he made 93 appearances for Rushden.
In a statement, Rushden chairman Gary Calder said: "It is with great sadness that this afternoon (Tuesday) our England C international Dale Roberts passed away. Our thoughts and prayers at this time go to his parents, family and friends."

Match report: Nottingham Forest 5 Derby County 2

MARCUS TUDGAY will be scouring the local estate agents in Derby to sell his house. It might not be advisable for him to stay there much longer after the damage he did to his former team at the City Ground.
Tudgay's previous connections with Nottingham Forest's rivals led to a muted reception when he arrived at the other end of the A52 on loan deadline day. Any doubts about his allegiances to Billy Davies' promotion quest were blown away with the two goals that help settle this long-standing spiteful argument.
He will complete his £ 400,000 move to Forest from Sheffield Wednesday next month and Forest will gladly pay the fee after the impact he had in giving Davies the last laugh over Nigel Clough.
The win stretched Forest's unbeaten record at home to 30 matches and left Derby mulling over a fifth successive loss.
Tensions between Davies and Clough had spilled over in previous matches. In a bid for calm, Davies made a point of walking way beyond his own dug-out prior to kick-off to shake hands with his opposite number. It was the smile before the retribution as within 90 seconds his side had stabbed the old Forest stalwart in the back and released all the pent up frustration of not playing for 11 days.
There was nothing clever about the first goal, but it was effective. Radoslaw Majewski's deep corner was powerfully met by Luke Chambers and Stephen Bywater's right hand was not strong enough to prevent it finding the top corner.
Derby had only won once in the last 33 years at Forest and arrived on the back of four straight defeats, but were level when Alberto Bueno's pass released Luke Moore to outpace Wes Morgan and the on-loan West Brom striker's shot went through Lee Camp and struck the bar before bouncing over the line.

Bywater had to produce saves to prevent Majewski and Robert Earnshaw from restoring Forest's lead, but he was powerless to prevent Marcus Tudgay heading in off the underside of the bar from Earnshaw's cross
Only the Derby goalkeeper's intervention denied Earnshaw a third for Forest after Aaron Ramsey's pass cut the visitors to shreds moments later.
Forest did get their third before the break though when Nathan Tyson's driving run and low cross presented Tudgay with his second from close range.
Goals were exchanged in a flurry the other side of the break. Earnshaw finally added Forest's fourth, against his old club. Tyson exposed Dean Leacock's lack of pace to cross for Earnshaw to prod in.
Kris Commons' at least silenced the resounding jeers his every touch was greeted with against his old club when he collected his 13th goal of the season when his 20-yard free-kick flew under the wall to beat Lee Camp.
Derby failed to build on it and defeat was confirmed in the final minute when Earnshaw added his second after Shaun Barker's error in his own penalty area.

The tavern keeper said that if you don't go to the Final Four, he won't be in the team next year. Okay, we know how crazy he is, I hope you found out too. You lose the match, the players are worried, you throw them and you the ball "it's your fault" and load more pressure
