The Wii offers revolutionary control, using natural movements of the controller, which looks like a standard TV remote control. Up to four controllers can be connected to the Wii at the same time, using Bluetooth technology. The Bluetooth signal reaches up to 10 meters. Both the Wii remote and the Nunchuk include motion sensors in the 3 axes of space. The Wii Remote additionally includes a speaker, vibration capabilities as well as an expansion port, and can be used as a pointer on the TV within a distance of five meters. The Wiiremote has a console on/off switch, directional pad, A, B, -, + and Home buttons, while the Nunchuk has an analog stick and C and Z buttons.
Appearance
The Wii has a modern design that makes a stylish addition to any TV. It can be placed both horizontally and vertically.
Optical disk
The Wii's self-loading drive accepts both single and double-layered 12cm optical discs, plus all GameCube games stored on 8cm discs.
Contact
The Wii can stay connected wirelessly to the Internet even when turned off. This service, called "WiiConnect24", can bring players new surprises or upgrades to their games, even when they aren't playing. Users can connect wirelessly using Wi-Fi IEEE802.11b/g, or a USB 2.0 LAN adapter. Finally, the Wii can also communicate wirelessly with the DS.
Virtual Console
Wii owners will have access to a host of retro games previously released on the Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even earlier the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). In addition to Nintendo platforms, there will also be games from the Sega Mega Drive and TurboGrafx, a console developed by Hudson and NEC. However, the potential of the Wii does not stop here, as new simple games from companies that do not have the budget to release them will also be available.
