End of the 2011-2012 season with EHC Black Wings Linz as champions for the 2nd time in its history after 2003. The Linz team finished first in the regular season with 66 points and 147-104 goals. The team was founded in 1992 and participates in the top league of Austria since 2000. In the first year it finished in 3rd place, in 2001-2002 it reached the finals of the play off but was defeated and the following year 2002-2003 won the title for the first time. In 2005 it went bankrupt and was re-established under its current name: LIWEST EHC Black Wings Linz. In 2006-2007 he reached the semifinals where he lost to VSV 0-3 in the best of five series. In 2007-2008 he also reached the semifinals where he lost to Olimpija Ljubjana 2-4. In 2008-2009 also in the semifinals it was defeated 2-4 by KAC. In 2009-2010 he reached the finals where he was defeated by Red Bull Salzburg. In 2010-2011 he was eliminated in the first round of the play offs by VSV with 1-4.
