First post on the Hockey Blog and the best of explaining some things since it is not so widespread in our country.
HISTORY
Some say they started playing in the Netherlands during the Middle Ages, others say they started playing in the UK and some in Canada. One is sure though that the first recorded game was held in Montreal, Canada on 3 March of 1875.
THE GAME
Hockey is played by 2 teams of 5 players and 1 goalkeeper. Players can use any part of the body to touch the pack but can not score hands or feet, give hands with hands and hold the pack for a long time. Player positions are 2 Wingers (1 Center) and 2 Defenseman (defensive). The game is divided into 3 twenty-minute bouts.
THE COURT
In Hockey there are 2 types of stadiums: International and American. The international is 61 X 30 m, the angle is 4,2 m, the distance from the rear wall is 4 m and the 3 zones are from 17 m. The American is 61 X 26 m, the angle is 8,5 m and the attack zones are 20 m and the neutral zone 15 m. There are 9 circles for faceoff
Basic rules
3 is the basic rules in hockey: Offside, Icing, Puck Out Of Play.
Offside: We have when a player passes the aggressive zone before the pack. The penalty is to stop the game and continue with faceoff in the neutral zone that is closest.
Icing: We have when a player from the attacking team shoots or pays the pack and passes 2 red lines without touching it. The penalty is to continue the faceoff game from the defensive zone of the team that did the offense and can not change players as the next faceoff.
Puck Out Of Play: When the pack comes out of the court. If it is deliberately made by a player, he / she eats a penalty of 2 minutes. If it happens unwittingly, the faceoff game continues from where the pack came out.
PENALTI
They have nothing to do with the soccer shootings. It is time penalties that each player accepts and goes to the Penalty Box and his team plays with a player less. There are 6 penalty categories.Minor Penalty, Major Penalty, Misconduct Penalty, Game Misconduct Penalty, Match Penalty, Penalty Shot.
Minor Penalty: It is a two-minute or four-minute miscarriage and comes mainly from cross checking, high-sticking, holding, holding the stick, hooking, interference, roughing, slashing, delaying the game and tripping.
Major Penalty: It's five-minute miscarriages and comes from spearing, fighting, butt-ending, charging, and boarding.
Misconduct Penalty: It is a 10-minute expulsion but the player can be replaced by another.
Game Misconduct Penalty & Match Penalty: It is the expulsion of the player from the rest of the game.
Penalty Shot: It is the well-known penalty kick that takes the pack from the center and tries to score goals. This is when a player leaves in the surprise and the defender throws him either by tripping or hooking. Or if a player hides the pack in the goalkeeper's area.
These are the basics one needs to know to see on ice.
