Manchester City - Chelsea

For the 22nd game of the English Premier League, Manchester City welcomes Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.

City is coming from a great victory in London against Arsenal as on New Year's day Arteta's team prevailed with 2-1. In the first part she was not good and she went straight to the locker room back to the score with a goal she conceded in the 31st, while offensively she was unable to create dangerous situations in the opponent's home. In the second half he increased his speed, equalized at 57 ΄ and when a few minutes later he gained a numerical advantage and in the delays he completed the overthrow!

This was the 11th consecutive victory for City in the league and took another step towards the title, after 21 games it is at the top with 53 points and plus 10 from 2nd Chelsea.

Last Friday, it prevailed for the Swindon cup with 4-1 and easily qualified for the next phase of the tournament.

Chelsea in their last match in the league for the time being were left in the 2-2 draw at home against Liverpool. A result that leaves her with mixed feelings as on the one hand she escaped defeat in a match that was found very early back in the score with 2-0 but on the other hand she stayed for the second consecutive match in a draw and saw her current opponent escape even more in Grading. The end of the match found her in 2nd place with 43 points. 

In the middle of the week, Chelsea prevailed in the second semifinal for the League Cup of Tottenham with 1-0 and thus got the qualification for the final of the tournament where they will face the winner of the pair Liverpool - Arsenal.

In between these two games, Tuhel's team prevailed over the Chesterfield Cup 5-1 and easily qualified for the next round.

City seems unstoppable in its course for the title and is rightly the favorite in today's match. Chesley, however, has nothing to lose and has shown that she can hardly put in the Manchester Blues. I think we will see matches worthy of the huge quality of the two teams with many phases and many goals.
