For the 1st matchday of Groupe F of the Europa League, Nantes welcomes Olympiakos to the Stade de la Beaujoire – Louis Fonteneau. The group is completed by Freiburg and Karabakh.
Last year's French Cup victory gave Nantes the European ticket after 20 years! Her goal is of course initially to enjoy her participation in the group, however the absence of a huge name allows her to dream of qualifying for the knockout matches of the competition.
In this year's French championship, however, it has not started ideally as in the first 6 matches the record measures 1 win, 3 draws and 2 defeats which bring it to 13th place in the standings with 6 points. In its last match in time, it was easily defeated by Paris Saint-Germain 3-0
Big adventures for Olympiakos in its European matches so far this year as he was initially eliminated by Maccabi in the 2nd qualifier of the Champions League, then he got two qualifiers in the penalty shootout against Slovan Bratislava and Apollon Limassol which qualified him for the Europa League groups.
Impressive is the fact that in a total of 6 matches this year he has not won yet.
This is their second consecutive appearance in the competition's groups and, having viable opponents, their goal is first place and qualifying for the next phase.
On Saturday, in the 3rd round of the Greek Super League, they easily beat Ionikos 3-1 and returned to winning ways, after the draw in Tripoli with Asteras. At the end of the competition, Olympiakos was in 2nd place with 7 points and minus 2 from the first Panathinaikos.
Nantes will have the excitement of returning to European cups after 20 years, they are traditionally strong at home and want to start the group on the right foot tonight. Olympiacos, for its part, having many changes in its roster, uses its experience as a weapon for the positive result. I think we will see an open match between two quality offensive teams but at the same time with many defensive problems.
Suggestion: Nantes – Olympic GG with odds of 1.80
