Northern Ireland - Greece

Game for Division D of the National League between Northern Ireland and Greece at Windsor Park in Belfast. The group is completed by Cyprus and Kosovo, the first of the group goes up to the B category.

Northern Ireland had a difficult task in the World Cup qualifiers being in a group with Italy, Switzerland and Lithuania and were fatally left out of the doubles and were eliminated from the finals of the tournament.
It was preceded by her even worse performance in the previous Nasional League of the BD category where she finished in the last position of the groups and was relegated to the DG category.
So Northern Ireland, starting tonight, wants to make a fresh start with the aim of claiming the first place in the group and returning to the second division of the tournament.

Another failure in recent years for Greece as in the World Cup qualifiers in a group with Spain, Sweden, Kosovo and Georgia virtually never entered the claim of a place in the top two and was limited to 3rd place in the group.
This failure also brought a change in technical leadership with the Dutchman Fad Schip being a thing of the past and being replaced by Gustavo Poget. The Uruguayan coach has even made his unofficial debut in the friendlies of March, initially our National team prevailed over Romania with 1-0 while a few days later it was defeated by Montenegro with 1-0.
Greece's goal in the Nasional League, in a group with passable opponents, the first that gives rise to the B category and in the long run its luck makes the way to the finals of Euro 2024 easier.

Northern Ireland has been far from a great success for years, tonight it is looking for a new beginning but it remains a combative but not very talented team. Not that Greece is full of talent but definitely the change in its bench but also the fact that it is far superior to its opponents individually can start its effort victoriously.
