Learn how to play Poker and what variations you will find in online bookmakers.

Basic Poker Rules

What is Poker?

As with most games, poker's aim is to win. Poker is testing your craftsmanship and strategic skills, whether you are playing to have fun or to make money.
There are many variations in poker games, but they all follow the same basic set:
· Players contribute to a central pot containing virtual chips or chips that represent real money.
· Players are dealt cards (one "hand"), all or some of which are hidden.
· Bets are placed during betting rounds based on the value of the bets.
· After completing betting rounds, the player with the strongest hand wins - or the last remaining player to play, while the rest of them folded!
Regardless of the kind of poker you want to play, it is crucial to understand the deck and learn the ranking of the hands.

The Deck

The deck consists of 52 sheets. The leaves are divided into four "colors", each of which shows 13 rankings.
The Four Colors

All colors have the same value. This means that no color overrides any other color.

The classification of 13 values

In poker, the highest value card is Ace and the lowest value card is 2 (Duplex). However, Ace can also be used as a weak sheet to form the 5-4-3-2-Ace.

Poker Variations

Texas Hold'Em

Texas Holdem is the most popular but also the easiest poker variant you can learn.
Each player gets from two "hidden" cards that only he has the right to see and use. Five "common" cards are then opened and can be seen and used by all players. Players have the option to form their five-handed hand with both, one or none of their hidden cards, combined with the common cards.
The game is divided into four rounds of betting and the direction of the bet around the table is clockwise. The betting starts by the player located next to the dealer's checker, which moves one position to the left after each hand. In online games, the dealer's checker replaces the "true" dealer.

The Blinds

Before the start of a game, the two players to the left of the dealer place the blinds (blinds or "openings"), which are called because they are made before the players see the cards. Blinds ensure the presence of some money in the pot, which players will claim from the start of the game. The player to the left of the dealer places the small blind and the player to the left of the big blind.

Pre-Flop (Before Opening Common Sheets)

Beyond that the action begins! Each player gets two cards that only he has the right to see, known as "hidden cards". Then the first round of betting starts the player sitting on the left of the big blind. The particular player, also known as "with the pistol on the throat", can do the following:
Call (I see them)
ie to follow the big blind's bet
Raise (Rheins)
ie to raise the amount of the bet or
Fold
ie to give up the game and lose its bet amount.
When a bet is returned to the player who made the big blind, then that player may take a check or choose to remain in the game without adding anything to the pot. However, if an opponent makes a raise, then the big blind player has three choices: he has to fold, say he is in or to raise.

The flop

Three "common cards" are opened on the table that all players can use to form their fivefold hand. There is a second round of bets.

The Turn ("turn" or penultimate sheet)

A fourth card is played on the table. The third betting round follows.

The River ("river" or last card)

The fifth and last card is played, followed by the final round of bets.

Opening the Showdown

If there are two or more remaining players in the game then the cards are opened so the players reveal their cards and win the highest hand (see Hand Ranking). If two players have exactly the same hand, then the pot is dealt.

Omaha

Players get four hidden cards that only they have the right to view, while five more "common" cards are open to everyone. Each of the players must use two of their own hidden cards, as well as three of the common cards to form his hand.

Omaha Hi / Lo

The Omaha Hi / Lo game is similar to Omaha, except that the pot is shared between the highest hand (as in Omaha) and the lower hand (which is based on a five-fold that starts from the eighth and bottom).
Players get four "hidden" cards that only those have the right to see, and five "common" cards that everyone can see. Each of the players must use two of their own hidden cards, as well as three of the common cards to form his hand.

Opening the Showdown

Leaves are opened if there are two or more players left in the game. When the cards are opened, players reveal their cards and the highest card wins half the pot. The other half wins the lowest hand. The same player may be in possession of both the strongest and the lowest hand. However, if no player has a low hand, then the whole pot wins the strongest hand.

7 Card Stud

7 Card Stud was the most popular poker variant ever since Texas Hold'em was stolen. It is quite different from both Texas Hold'em and Omaha and requires a lot of patience. But it is a fascinating game that can justify your efforts!
Before the start of the game, each player must place an initial bet ("ante"), a mandatory amount to ensure the presence of some money in the pot. There are no cards in Stud games. Instead, the dealer starts the handing of cards clockwise until each player has three cards. The first two cards are dealt closed ("hidden cards"), while the third is dealt open (the "door leaf").

7 Card Stud is divided into five rounds of betting and the direction of the bet around the table is clockwise.

Starting Betting

The game starts with the player with the lowest value card, who makes a forced bet called "bring-in" ("mandatory bet"). (If two or more players have the same lower card then the required bet is determined in alphabetical order of the color: swords, checkers, mugs and sticks.)

Third Street (Third Street)

Once the required bet is made, each player (starting from the player on the left of the player who made the initial bet) can fold, say "in" or raise up to the limit of the bet.

Fourth Street (Fourth Street)

He shares all of them with one more open card. At this point, the player with the two largest open cards starts the bet. Only in this betting round, if a player reaches an open pair, he can double the bet.

FifthStreet (Fifth Road)

He shares all of them with one more open card. The player with the highest combination of open cards starts the bet.

Sixth Street (Sixth Street)

He shares all of them with one more open card. Again, the player with the highest combination of open cards starts the bet. \

Seventh Street - The River (Seventh Street or River)

He shares his last card to each player. The bet begins by the same player who started it in the previous round.

Showdown

The player with the best hand wins.

7 Card Stud Hi / Lo

The 7 Card Stud Hi / Lo game is similar to 7 Card Stud, except that the pot is shared between the highest hand (as in the 7 Card Stud) and the lowest hand (which is based on a five- and below: see our Hand Ranking page for further information).

Before the start of the game, each player must place an "ante", a mandatory amount to ensure the presence of some money in the pot. There are no cards in Stud games. Instead, the dealer starts the handing of cards clockwise until each player has three cards. The first two cards are dealt closed ("hidden cards"), while the third is dealt open (the "door leaf").

Again, the player with the highest combination of open cards starts betting.

Sixth Street (Sixth Street)

He shares all of them with one more open card. The player with the highest combination of open cards starts the bet.

Seventh Street - The River (Seventh Street or River)

He shares his last card to each player. The same player starts the bet and opens the previous round.

Showdown

Leaves are opened if there are two or more players left in the game. When the cards are opened, players reveal their cards and the highest card wins half the pot. The other half wins the lowest hand. The same player may have both the highest and the lowest hand, or there may not be any high hand, in which case the highest hand will win the entire pot.
