The elections in Catalonia were made, but the results did not adequately illustrate the situation. The wave of secession flares, but the Rahoyi government warns and threatens. With regard to the split elections, the Spanish press and the Catalan press appeared on the outcome of the local elections in Catalonia. Some newspapers believe that the Catalans said yes to independence, some saw pirate victory of the separatists while others were defeated.
"It is" imposed ", is the title of the conservative Catalan La Vanguardia, above a photo of the leadership of our Artsun coalition Junts pel Si (Together for 'yes').
"The majority of the Catalans say 'no' to independence," writes the Madrid Conservative newspaper El Mundo, stressing that although they secured an absolute majority of seats in the local parliament, the separatists received only 47,8 of the votes .
For the Catalan newspaper El Periodico on the left, it is a "victory," though "bitter," while center-left El Pais believes "the separatists win the election but lose the referendum."
"Catalonia does not want to break away," is the interpretation given to the result by the highly conservative ABC of Madrid.
However, the press considers it extremely difficult to maintain the alliance between Together for the "yes" and the CUP.
"Our and his (ally in JXS Oriol) Hunkeras want to declare independence with a party of the far left that calls into question the private ownership of the means of production? The CUP "has resumed to satiety that it will not support our Arthur as a president," La Vanguardia points out, recalling that the anti-capitalist party wants immediate proclamation of independence and not after the completion of a 18-month process, as Together for "Yes".
Catalan El Periodico notes, however, that the Spanish Government must act decisively on the Catalan issue. With the election result, "the Catalans remind Rahoy that he can not continue like that," writes El Periodico. "Even more so than today the prime minister will understand that the Catalan problem will not be settled over time."
Madrid "has to respond urgently and open a path to dialogue," El Pais writes in the same logic. Or "to oversee the moves of nationalism to enforce the rule of law without delays," ABC notes.
