Second consecutive positive result for Verona, the previous matchday drew 1-1 at the home of Udinese. Lazio were held to a 1-1 home draw by Fiorentina last week. A result that leaves her with a bittersweet taste as she remained unbeaten for the fourth consecutive match, but on the other hand she lost two valuable points in the battle for the top four. She came on strong in the first half and opened the scoring early but her opponent paid her with the same coin at the start of the replay and she was also lucky in the final of the match as Viola had a post in the last phase of the match.
Despite the draw, however, the Lazio remains in 4th place with 38 points and today has the opportunity with a victory to overtake 3rd place Roma with 40 points and to escape even more from Atalanta and Milan who are tied with them in the battle for the top four.
On Thursday night, Lazio failed in Turin against Juventus in a one-off cup match, losing 1-0 and being eliminated from the competition.
Verona is struggling after the resumption of the league and has revived its hopes of staying in the division. Lazio, for its part, is not particularly satisfying in the last matches, but remains in the top four. Both will go for the win and can give us a match with many goals.
