-->Bookmakers Review received a complaint from a long-time customer of Gamebookers sister-site PartyBets who turned a $2700 Moneybookers deposit into a $6000 balance and later asked for a withdrawal of $4000 on his credit card.
While the bookmaker did its job in stopping that was using not the same method used to deposit, this case could have been solved very easily.
Instead PartyBets accused its long-time customer (and winner) to be a money launderer.
When Bookmakers Review contacted Partybets management, just like it happened back in 2007 with a number of bonus complaints against Gamebookers, the company could not keep its story straight.
First the player was not a player, but simply made a MB deposit and tried to withdraw through credit card (PartyBets didn't mention the winnings), then they stated that the playet could have his account re-opened if he was going to keep betting and when I asked why he could not cash his winnings, they finally said the decision of the security department to confiscate the winnings was correct and invited the player to contact either eCOGRA or the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority.
PartyBets parent company PartyGaming is a founding member of the Remote Gambling Association, but they must have misssed the most recent study published by the RGA (http://www.rga.eu.com/shopping/images/RGA_ML_PR_-_july.doc) clearly stating that money laundering is a non-issue within the online gambling industry.
What the study didn't say is that money laundering is one of the preferred excuses used by gambling companies to confiscate winnings from players.
It's BMR opinion that Partyberts is another bookmaker that doesn't even try to make a quality leap preferring to rest on its strong position on the market, basically sending players the following message: we hold your money and we decide what to do with it.
PartyBets is downgraded to 3 (3.5), while Gamebookers rating is reassessed at 3.5 (3.5+) and its chances to enter the Green List any time soon have been zeroed. BMR also reserves to further downgrade PartyBets following the result of the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority investigation into the player's complaint.
